"I believe we can honor Dave by creating a "DH" model for the Prius. Does anybody here have a contact at Toyota that can create the "DH" edition?"

This is a fabulous idea. What an appropriate tribute this would be.

One of the Toyota spokespersons quoted in the news is Bill Reinert, "a Toyota national manager." Also quoted is "company spokesman Mike Michels." Hmmmm. Maybe one of them might be helpful in pointing us in the right direction?

What about a grassroots campaign? Prius owners, Green Community, etc. C'mon you smart people out there! Where should we send our letters? This wonderful man has done more for the American public than they will ever know ....

I am sorry. I lost a friend who died in a hammer head stall in his plane several years ago. Both are tragic losses of talanted individuals.

I didn't hear about this initially, but Toyota's Hybrid E-News newsletter that came in my inbox today outlined the loss.

I'm saddened as well as I had worked indirectly with him through Dianne Whitmire (Carson Toyota) on building a list of voice commands for the 2004 NAV unit. He had also indirectly answered several of our questions back in the Yahoo! and early Prius Chat days.

As a recently graduated pilot - I respect his love of aviation, and can only say that as tragic as his death was, he died doing what he loved.

    Toyota has another blurb here:
