    I have a 2012 Prius 4.
Last weekend I went to open the rear hatch and the button wouldn't pop the latch. I made sure I had the keys in my pocket and that the doors were unlocked. There's no sound when I press the hatch switch...nothing.

I tried to search the forum, but can't get it to search, keeps giving me an error.

Any tips and links would be appreciated, I'm sure this is a subject that has come up before...but haven't been able to find anyone's experience yet.

    Thanks
    Antoine

12 volt health . Put the lights on how long till they go dim is a quick check.

Generally if you're not here in the click click by pushing the button generally I first start looking at the 12 volt it's pretty rare for the solenoid back there to just go bad and I guess it can't happen I've also on my generation two had the button go bad and I replaced it with one from another Gen 2 with the rubber piece and everything I haven't had the Gen 3 apart yet for the trunk not opening but no clicking solenoid is a dead giveaway that either the solenoid's not getting power or it's possibly defective. Good luck

I checked all the fuses and went to check to see if power was getting to the button and found that the wiring harness to the button had become detached.
Prior to this I had removed the rear hatch to remove and replace the backup camera with a 12v version. I guess when I pulled the trim and put it back on the button harness must have come loose.

    Thanks for all the suggestions.
I guess this one was a self inflicted wound.
