i can't answer everything but:

1) if you need a car, look around to compare prices to repairing yours.

2) 2008 prius is a beast, but you will need some major repairs like battery, brake actuator, engine if it burns oil, cat converter theft is a problem.

3) battery code can be corrosion inside, so you'll have to open it up, clean it up, then test the modules with tech stream.
a new battery is best, but if you don't mind playing whack a mole, you can replace and balance modules, or buy a rebuilt, which is the same thing but someone else's labor.
they are all iffy, and some have better luck than others. that is the nature of old batteries.

4) P0101 maf cleaning might help, or replacement.

5) touch screens are expensive, and good used ones hard to find. salvage or ebay

6) try texas hybrid batteries for a rebuilt combo meter swap with odo correction. 200 bucks i think.
you can talk to them about the battery as well.

7) noise from tires or a bad bearing?

8) changing the oil on an ecvt is always a good idea

9) sometimes libraries have access, or there might be a gen2 on line, idk. here is the wiki page on prius manual availability:

you may want to look at all the hvac vent doors and actuators if they are accessible, and check the connections of any ecu's for corrosion

 

It needs a right front wheel bearing MAF sensor and a battery pack

 

skip new prius batteries, and look into new lithium batteries from project lithum's nexpower. > /

there are several npb threads here. you would do well to read through the last few pages of each.
you can find them through the profile of 2k1toaster, the owner of npb.
from what i understand, they got stuck in the covid mess and couldn't get inventory from china. then one shipment was tossed overboard or something. then the owner got sick and was incommunicado.
when he finally returned, it was only to say they were still waiting for product. some people paid 6 months ago, and are still waiting.
i guess what bugs me is that they don't wait until shipment to charge you, they charge you when you place the order.
up until that point, i wasa big proponent, and most of his customers were satisfied.

 

Did anyone notice, my lips sealed in regard to Toasters Kits?
On the other hand, Jacks nexpower kits with all the development youtube s, cell specs available, module tare down youtube by one of the nexpower vendors, vendors here at priuschat, at least two that post regularly and were part of the beta test team.
Big Plus in my mind is Jacks DrPrius app.
Several years of history from vendors and somewhere between 5 and 10 years of testing from Jack s Gen 2( please correct if I'm off to far with my estimate ) Good support from Jack his cell / module source and vendors.

3 kits, 75k miles each so far and no degradation

 

Our 2010 Canadian Touring was one of the last to avoid touch screens. I believe commencing in 2012 they all had them. I'm not sure we progress...

 

If you like learning and working on your car, keep the car. For reference, our 07 Prius bought new (2 miles) has 626,000 miles and counting. The major issues that I have had are as follows:
1. Head gasket needing replaced around 515K
2. Combo meter needing repaired around 550K. Received great help from Priuschat members, bisco and dolj
3. Replaced four cells in the hybrid battery around 580K.
4. Just replaced a thermocouple/thermistor in the hybrid battery probably due to my "rough" handling.
Our plan is to drive it till the wheels fall off. I say keep it.
Next on the list is to replace muffler and gasket as it is much louder than stock and I have been neglecting it.

 

I tried to sell mine on Fleabay for $19 each, no bidders at all.

I followed the link but it seems to be for a civic. I found the gen 2 prius but looks like you order them buy to piece. I assume you need 14?
