I have a 2012 Prius V (5 trim level) with the JBL GreenEdge E7034. The unit went dark recently with no warning. I tried everything I could find in these forums to power it on or test it, but nothing happens. It appears to be getting power since I can hear the CD player spin up if I hold down the CLOSE button (though it doesn't open or anything).

Does this sound like the soldered board connection issue, or maybe something else? I don't know how similar the E7034 is to other units.

@gromittoo, I see you know a lot about Prius v MFDs and you've posted a lot of great information. Any ideas?

I assumed it's not a fuse since the CD makes a noise when I hold down the CLOSE button, but now that I have the unit out I see it has 10 ports on the back. Is it possible the CD power comes from one port and there's a blown fuse affecting the rest of the unit?

BTW thanks for the detailed instructions in another post for removing the unit. Taking it out was a breeze.

I don't know anything about the JBL units.

from what i've read, not much luck fixing these things. some go salvage/ebay, some go new. very expensive.
    some go aftermarket
