Car not responding to key on 2013 Prius v. When I press on fob, it doesn't open/lock doors unless I continue to press button multiple times. (Sometimes it works with one press, other times it needs 10+ presses.) Once inside, the car often doesn't recognize key is there and puts up the warning light. It will only start when I hold key fob next to start button.) I have changed the battery multiple times, thinking that was it. I did just discover that when I press the key fob button, the red light doesn't always illuminate.

So maybe it's something in the "wiring" inside the fob?

Or a series of flat button batteries. Store stock is often very dated.

Brand new batteries...they work fine with other devices. I think we can rule that out as the reason.

Nope. It does work intermittently well. And other times it just craps out. Thus, it can't be an upside down batter.

Rinse the fob pc board and micro switches in denatured alcohol to try to remove salts and corrosion?

Do you have the same issues with both fobs or just one?
