The dealer is recommending to perform a hybrid battery filter cleaning service. Is it necessary?

The dealer is recommending a fuel induction and injection service. I have 98K miles on my 2013 Prius 3. Is it necessary?

98,000 mi on a 13 Prius yeah it ought to be pretty clogged up I'd probably have that done or do that at my house whatever absolutely That's not that many miles but a good few years and a few changes and gasoline types and manufacturing processes It's probably time to blast some of the gunk out of there. Although I don't have these things done at the dealer ever My battery fan and all that is dealt with almost on a monthly basis I clipped a little cover off and blow it out and things like that just like regular cleaning.

Dealerships are for warranty work. If they're trying to sell you something they're not only gonna rip you off, but they'll likely find additional expensive repairs in the process... Find a reliable local mechanic who will keep costs down and get a throttle body and EGR cleaning...

The induction cleaning is a machine that won't do as good of a job as a mechanic taking stuff apart and cleaning and inspecting.

It’d be more worthwhile, and a lot cheaper, to DIY clean the hybrid battery vent system ductwork and fan. Depending on your situation it might be timely, or overkill. Either way you’ll know, for future.

On the engine intake side, there’s several degrees of DIY intervention, ranging from cleaning the throttle body in place, through cleaning it when lifted off, to also taking off the intake manifold, cleaning it and the intake ports.

if you want to get into the latter I can post info regarding torque values.

NO! You can do that yourself, "IF" you have a filter.
It's on the passenger rear side by the seat. If the filter is there, you just pull
it off and rinse it in the sink.
    See photos...

Did they run a diagnoses to see if they were not creating a good mist? I would say no...
If the car is running fine, and you use a quality fuel, you don't need this.
You could get a bottle of Marvel Mystery Oil and pour it in the tank the the next time you fill
    the fuel tank.

Based on what symptoms, if any? It might be needed, or they might be trying to rip you off with unnecessary work. More information needed ...

Clean it yourself if possible. Dealerships are the last bunch to help, will $oak you, replace parts that just need cleaning, do an incomplete job. Or just refuse to do anything; say wait for codes.

Read up, get the tools, do as much in prep as possible, break up the tasks to separate days or weekends. It’s definitely time; delaying much longer and you get into head gasket failure territory, around 150~200k.
