    Hi Folks
I can hear the bearings in my water pump and wanted to ask if there is anything else I should be looking out for at this millage. Any less expensive preventative parts to replace?

I've also recently done the maf cleaning and transmission fluid, Serp belt was done about 10k ago. I did the inverter pump probably 70k ago and HV battery 5k ago.
Otherwise one of the most reliable cars I've ever had.
I'd like to keep it going without trouble.
I'd have to say I do have to step on the gas more these days to go up hills.
    Thanks for any input.

edit:I forgot about the dash lights being replaced, the steering wheel button controller, and a wheel bearing lol

Find The Car Care Nut on YouTube and watch his videos on Prius known issues. (He should know, he's been a Master Toyota Technician/Mechanic for over a decade.)
I'm not experienced with Gen 2 (for specific issues) but this is my maintenance schedule for all of our vehicles:

    Oil/Filter Every 6-months or 5,000 miles
Air Filter As Needed (check every 6-months)
    Cabin Air Every 12-months (Charcoal)
Radiator Coolant Every 5-years or 100,000 miles
Hybrid Coolant Every 5-years or 100,000 miles
    CVT/AT Tranny Every 5-years or 100,000 miles
*Power Steering Fluid Every 4-years/50,000 miles
*Front/Rear DIffs Every 3-years or 25,000 miles (rear diff is in AWD versions only)
    *Lube Every 12-months
Replace: Spark Plugs/PCV and PCV Valve Hose/ Radiator Cap / Gas cap Every 10-years/100,000 Miles
Brake Fluid Flushed Every 4-years/50,000 miles
Throttle Body Cleaned Every 25,000 Miles
MAF Sensor Cleaned Every 25,000 Miles
    Tire Rotation Every 5,000 Miles

Do the belt tensioner pulley while replacing the water pump.

Otherwise, Coloradoboo has a pretty good list there. At some point you will likely have to replace the ignition coils.

Every couple years you should lift - jack & block - get the car up in the air to inspect the steering & suspension, brakes, exhaust, underbody and fluid lines.

If you have to step more on the gas these days to go up a hill and just had the HV battery replaced 5k ago somethings not right. It should have no problem going up hills unless you just did a whack a mole battery rebuild and had a few modules 'rebuilt" which is temporary at best.

The hybrid battery supply's the bulk of power not the engine so be aware stepping on the gas more means the engine is taking up all the power requirements and that's not what it was designed for and will beat it up pretty good over time. You wont feel it complain but you may hear the lifters tick louder though. That's the load on it. She may start eating oil.

You can test the battery health by doing a baseline mileage test.

Inflate the tires to 38-40 lbs all around. Find a nice straight flat highway no traffic no hills and get up to 60 miles an hour. No ac on no lights no radio. Set the cruise control for 60 miles an hour and zero out the reset mileage meter on the mfd and Drive for about 3-5 miles. Don't touch the gas just let it go CC for 5 miles.

Whats the mileage on the mfd after 5 miles?

A healthy hybrid battery and engine will be around 55 mpg's minimum on this benign test. I suspect yours is more like 40 mpg's.

    Good Luck..

I average about 48mpg, and the battery replaced was a green battery for about $1600 with a lifetime warranty.
I have on the list to do the water pump, pully, PCV valve, and coolants.
It does burn a little oil, maybe 1/3 a quart per 10k, but for a 200k mileage car, I'm not surprised?
