Shifter not working after Re and Re

    Removed the shifter from 2006 Prius. It was working perfectly. Reinstalled it and now I get the P0705 code and it will not shift into gear. Neutral only.

    Recheck your work. The most probable cause is something was not reconnected or a connector did not "click" when connected

    unfortunately, a lot of old toyota connectors cannot take re re. you may have to re (place)

    Thank you for taking the time to help. I took it apart and checked the plugs. You were correct, even though the plug-in clicked what had happened was a pin got bent to one side and was not in the female plug. it was bent and had a kink in the middle so it took some careful unbending to get it lined up. Works perfectly now. Thanks again!!!!!

    Thanks for trying to help. Turned out a pin got bent and I was lucky this time.
