Oh no. On top of everything else, he's one of them too.

There is really no sensible comparison to be made between University essays and internet fluff. We might set it aside. Along with ill comparisons between electrical transportation of the future and noisy befouling burnings of the past.

@asjoseph is right about hybrid vehicles as a bridge though. Else we would not be here; else 20 million units would not have been sold (or have there been more?). It's a shame to conflate that message with fluff.

... your concern much appreciated. Very thoughtful of you, a thousand thanks, so kind of you to offer. So many to be had, right here at the Priuschat.com? We won't need that one you keep, under your mattress, after all -

If only there were some sort of forum about such vehicles...

Our 2014 BMW i3-REx carried a small engine driving a generator that substituted for the absence of usable, fast DC charging. The BMW was an EV that carried its own, fast DC charger. In contrast, the other 'hybrids' insisted on having a mechanical drive from the engine to the wheels.

If I have to go hybrid, I would go with the serial hybrid of the BMW i3-REx. Anything else is at best a kludge with the worst aspects of ICE and EV forced together.

You seem to confuse curiosity with concern.
Some of this may be ethanol fueled, but....in vino veritas.....SO.

Please allow me to de-conflict this for you, and gratefully return 999 of your thankful wishes.
I WILL keep one, because here in PC we may not be friends but we ARE neighbors.

The mattress you peeked under was clearly not mine.
To my certain knowledge I own no autographed photographs.....of anyone.
Would I desire such an object it would absolutely NOT feature a US Transportation Secretary whose singular failing in that task inspired a leading US pizza restaurant chain to launch an advertisement campaign to fix potholes in the very home town that he was (barely) elected as mayor.
    Secretary Pete is superbly educated.
As a fellow Hoosier, I will acknowledge THAT!
Neither 'Havad' nor Oxford (Pembroke) award BAs to idiots.

    HOWEVER
    (comma!!!!)
There's a difference between being EDUCATED and being WISE.
Simply put.....he (pronoun foul?) is a red-light whore.
Mayor Pete ONLY shows personal aggression when the little red lights are illuminated on video cameras.
MOST DISTURBINGLY to me, Mayor Pete (like at least two others in the past) used a pair of USN Lieutenant bars as (at the very least) a political tool.

    As bad as that is....
HE was not even very accomplished at THAT task.

    Think about it.
A superbly educated, politically ambitious LT, USN intell weenie shows up in a combat zone and they make him a duty driver for a General.
AND...they don't even give him a significant award afterwards!
This informs ME that in addition to being somewhat lacking as a leader AND an administrator AND a broker in the intel field, our Transportation Secretary might also be lacking in other areas.
People bag on the military for many things, but they do tend to be....results oriented.

    SO.....
    Sorry.
You may accuse me of MANY things, but willingly allowing an autographed photo of Mayor Pete on my property SHOULD not BE one of them.

Not a hater, just an educated observer. ;)

My English teacher was nice, so I never wanted to make him cry.

But if I had .... This conversation between @asjoseph and @ETC(SS) would definitely have done the job.

    ----

For those who, for some reason, would like to understand their conversation, might I recommend the appropriate phrase book?

    meh.

    It's a Tesla.
After about the millionth unit built and delivered, what's so remarkable about it?

    They're like iPhones.
As long as you hold your nose and close your eyes when topics like slave labour and offshoring come up - it's all good - right?

BLM is one of the best things ever said to humanity, long overdue.
You do know the gen 2 was often the target of other people not minding their own business what car someone has? Still is.
I’m ashamed to have responded and attempted to read half of this thread.

    • Beautiful black Tesla - mine is blue, $24,000 new with trade-in
    • Black BMW i3-REx - in the shop getting a door repaired, $15,000 used 57k mi
I do my own maintenance but the door is an insurance job. Having two EVs or precisely an EV and PHEV, if one is down, I simply switch to the other. Having a second car lets me fetch parts or tools as needed and avoid a rental:
    • $2.50/100 mile - the Tesla
    • $2.95/100 mile - the BMW for 106 mi EV
      • $10/100 mile driving cross country on gas in 88 mi segments
Oh BOO HOO, someone's panties in a wedge.
