Pricing & Dealerships in Western NY

    I am new to this site and think all the posts are great. I will be purchasing a Prius in the next couple of months and was wondering if anyone has any info on prices paid and reputable dealers in Western NY (Rochester/Buffalo/Syracuse area)?

    In reading the posts prices paid (over invoice & under MSRP) and inventory seem to vary between different parts of the country. Any advice based upon my location?

    I recommend Dorschel in Henrietta. I traded a Subaru Forester and got $6000 over Kelly Blue Book. Bought my 2006 package 7 Prius off the lot for sticker. Great saleman by the name of Dave Macaluse.

    LeBrun Toyota in Canadaigua was not such a good experience. Wanted to low ball me on my trade because "no one wants a gas guzzling SUV" and it was a 2-3 month wait.

    I recommend this site for car buying information in general. More cars are sitting on the lots longer so prices should be lower than they were this summer. Good luck and happy hunting.

    Thank you Renocat & JimN! I read all the information at carbuyingtips.com a couple of years ago & used the info to purchase my 05' Honda Element. I used the e-mail method to get quotes & played dealers off each other to get the price I wanted. It worked quite well & made for a pleasant car buying experience.

    Since the Prius is a hot vehicle, I have found it difficult, so far, to find out what the current Prius market is like in my area, although quite a few dealers show Prius's on their lots. I wonder if they can be bought for under sticker/over invoice & if anyone has any recent purchase(s) in Western, NY that could provide info.
