I got one key fob and an extra manual key. Did you get an extra manual key too?

    Not so good news…
‘22s purchased from Oct-22 thru end of model year (Jan/Feb/Mar) only received one FOB.
Toyota Corp says we’re all on a list, but at the earliest you’ll receive a letter at “end of summer” with details on how to get.
Unfortunately, date could be moved to fall or winter or never. I’m not holding my breath.
There are FOBs available for your vehicle today for purchase $95 on-line or $125 at dealership (+ programming).
If you need a 2nd FOB now, suggest you buck-up the $$$.
That way you’ll have the FOB now, and if the promised free 2nd FOB ever comes to be…you’ll have a 3rd one.

They could revert to an old-school ignition key? The kind the shoe-repair guy could duplicate in 5 minutes for $5.

Mechanical parking brake would be nice too.

The reality is half of us got new cars because they gave every second guy the first guys extra fob. Toyota's instructions to dealers is to not sell or program existing emergency stock. Some will do it anyway.

And there will be a rash of tiktok videos of kids joy riding Toyotas like there was with Hyundais.

The mechanical ignition probably costs more at this point.
Those could weight 13 pounds on some models, because of the cabling. That's why cars use electric now.

No, no one wants an old-school key! LOL

I need to try the electronic parking brake, but I was never a fan of mechanical parking brakes. Foot-operated ones are more convenient than hand brakes. I guess they have the advantage of working in case of an electrical failure though. But then the old-fashioned hand brake is a must for old-school stick-shift drivers.

Got my Prius on 14 of last month and was told I would receive the 2nd one by mail in 20 something days. I haven’t received anything yet. I will be calling them in the morning to ask about it. Hopefully they will get it resolved or not I’m leaving them a bad review.

When a giant worldwide company like Toyota can sell every vehicle they make for msrp or more even with high interest rates they aren't worried about a key fob review. Seriously.

In case we lose or misplaced our fob, we can always use our smartphone provided by digital key technology.

Until the subscription runs out, which seems possible of happening before getting the fob at this time.

Yea true. But most dealers don’t like it when you them negative review and will be willing to do whatever it takes to make it right.

Only some 2023 models have the digital key subscription option. Other "Remote Connect" smartphone apps just start the car but still require the fob to drive off.

    From Google AI:
As of 2023, the following Toyota models are equipped with Digital Key:

    • 2022+ bZ4X
    • 2023+ Camry
    • 2023+ Corolla Cross
    • 2023+ Highlander
    • 2023+ RAV4
    • 2023+ Sienna
    • 2023+ Tacoma
    • 2023+ Tundra
    • 2023+ GR86
    • 2023+ Supra
Digital Key is a feature that allows you to use your smartphone as a key to your Toyota vehicle. With Digital Key, you can unlock, lock, and start your vehicle using your smartphone. You can also share Digital Key with others, so they can access your vehicle without having a physical key.

That list wasn’t updated and should include 2023 Prius Prime
