Just bought Gen3 prius plus or V in US or Alpha in Japan 7 seater, its an import from Japan to UK , it has 178k miles everything so far on the car is original never changed , what i am planning after reading loads of threads online are
    - water pump
    - inverter
    - pcv valve
    - all the coolants
    - oil and filters
    - break oil

Any thing you guys suggest to check, spark plugs were chaged 40k miles before. Coils i am not changing they are out of my budget right now .
By the way the car is working fine no issues so far. Mostly its will be used for short runs, getting 40 to 42 mpg.

    Many Thanks

If it's from Japan, they are very strict on the emissions, but I can't imagine the mileage being that high, Japan is not that big and this car has to be on it's 3rd or 4th engine by now

Imported in 2018 with 45k miles , and used as taxi , engine is still factory fitted, nothing is done to it yet.

if it is similar to north america, the egr circuit clogs and potentially blows the head gasket.

If the EGR system (including the EGR passages in the intake manifold) has never been cleaned, for 178k miles, it’s likely to be very clogged with carbon, and consequentially there’s a good chance the head gasket is failing, or will be soon.

getting on the cleaning is always good, may avert head gasket failure, but with those miles I wouldn’t count on it.

So, this is what I am thinking to do all at the same time, Water pump, thermostat, PCV valve, Full EGR cleaning, intake manifold cleaning.

Not sure how long it will take but I must do this sooner than later.

Do you know where is the fan location of HV battery in Prius V.

So far there are no known symptoms, I may take the risk and keep it for couple of years.

Looks like electric is the only solution with no traditional engine parts or servicing .

I suspect it’s similar to 3rd gen Prius, it’s right next to the battery. If that’s the case you need to pry the hatch deck off the top of battery, remove the fan air intake grill at rear seat back (one 12 mm bolt, reachable by pushing apart seat and seat back), then just follow your nose, pull out the ductwork till the fan is uncovered. I’ve found you can clean the fan in place; no need to remove.

Look for the hybrid fan air intake, and follow it? I’ve also heard the inlet can be on the front of the rear seat, near the the floor.

probably easier to go from the battery. are you sure that's the battery intake? looks more like a booster fan to move conditioned air to the back

Right folks update, manage to change water pump , thermostat , pcv valve, engine and inverter coolant, cleaned the egr valve and pipe also the throttle body , intake manifold and changed the gasket for manifold, it was leaking hence the oil on the protection shield .

These are some of the random pictures.

Manifold was not bad at all looks like the last owner did clean it.
Water pump looks perfect and was moving freely with good magnet.

Egr cooler was not bad so did not take that out.

Thanks guys for your help, did this kind of work first time broke only one bolt and it took me 4 days to finish the job after work. I hope this car lasts bit longer now.
The most difficult part was to put back the under sheet and to remember where all the bolts and nuts will go.

@Mendel Leisk found lots of good info from your posts especially the diagrams and torque specs
    below youtube channels helped

The Car Care Nut and NutzAboutBolts

Now to next project is parking sensors, rear looks not too difficult but for the front ones not finding any information .
