    Hello all,

So I have no idea why but today on my commute to work, my prev/next track on my steering wheel switches stopped working. Now, I'm sure most of us are used to this where we get the "Data is being acquired from iPod. Please wait" message, but this time it was different. Normally when this happens, I wait 2-3 seconds and then it works (even if I spammed the prev/next track switches). Totally used to that.

But this time around, the message "Data is being acquired from iPod. Please wait" kept displaying. Eventually it stopped displaying that message entirely and the steering wheel buttons were not working at all. However, it was still possible to switch tracks on the screen and with the phone.

Has anyone else experienced this recently? Not sure if it has to do with any new iOS updates or if it's a Toyota-related glitch. I'm currently on an iPhone 14 Pro iOS 16.5 and my Prius infotainment is on software 1792.

I should note: I found a very similar thread posted a couple of weeks ago at the RAV4 forums!

UPDATE: So after some testing, here are my findings:

If I connect my phone WITHOUT entering CarPlay, or use bluetooth, the phone can switch songs using the prev/next track button indefinitely, with no issues.

It is only once I open Apple CarPlay and try switching tracks that, after a few taps, the steering wheel button will not work, but tapping on the screen and phone will still be able to cycle through songs just fine.
