Oh, perhaps. I was working on this being a Prime thread.
5000 is too low for the hybrid. The Prius family figure for the first quarter was over 6000. That will have left over 2022's. How many would just be a guess, but it wasn't like the model was gathering on lots last year.

Those are phone charging cables. They added those and definitely overcharged me!!! I already have millions of cables.

What I thought, but wasn't sure with that listed price.
With the plethora of cables out there, some phones aren't even shipped with them these days.

It's a massively overpriced set of one 12V power source with two USB ports and two USB cables from Toyota. It's called the Connectivity Kit and has an MSRP of $75 USD.

Well, that's a tiny bit better than the kit that's getting tacked onto a bunch of Toyotas. lol

$2 cheaper and one extra cord.

Went to two local dealers near Los Angeles. One dealer wants 14k above MSRP and another one had the Prius XLE on ground that wanted $51,000 out the door. They went down to $42,800 but I still walked out on that deal. This is insane!

I wonder what the salesperson's cut is when some numbskull walks in and plunks down 15K over MSRP? I hope they get to share in the spoils. Those folks have been hit REALLY hard during the supply crunch. The dealerships receive all kinds of help.

Keep the faith man. And put together a list of 30 or so dealers in a radius and send them a cut 'n paste message asking to do business at a fair price. You'll get one or two bites.

It seems we are in a (new) short-term supply crunch after a few conversations I've had with dealers. They usually get 1-2 prius allocated each month, and this month they got zero. Could just be my area but...

My Blizzard White beauty should be arriving any day now. *****FINGERS CROSSED*****

the crunch is toyotas reluctance to make many until they see sales take off. you can't go by refundable deposits.
they said they were going to make as many cars worldwide this year as last, maybe more, so they must have the capability.
but it's already june, we're running out of months

Uhhh. The new Prius is selling for 40% markup in some areas. That's incredible demand pressure. I can only guess Toyota is having component supply issues. No rational actor is going to limit production until marginal cost equals marginal benefit.

the mark ups only mean lack of supply. look at the numbers, it's unprecedented.

it may be that prius requires too many chips which would limit non hybrids, which are the real cash cows.

Or the other models assembled at the factory yield higher profits.

All of this supply...demand...dealer markups...greed...dependency on oil....makes me want to finance another $18,000 and buy a Model Y with panel gaps, bland interior, frustrating screen based operation and the ability to charge at home....and look like a ML350 in South Florida in white or Black....LOL:rolleyes: Teslas are very, very, very common where I live...............probably should sit here and eat my pancakes....Sorry.
