Arizona Prius, 150k miles. Per O'Reilly's Scan Tool this code came up. Dash indicators show engine problem and the large yellow triangle with Exlamation Mark in the middle.
Seems like 150k miles is a bit early for the Hybrid battery to fail. Thoughts?

It's normal to have a battery fail around the 10 year mark, you have surpassed that already

Thank you! Local Toyota quoting $7k for replacement. Realistic?

No that's not realistic The battery mid pandemic for me was $1,464 I believe it was from the Toyota dealer brand new with my trade in which was a Toyota factory trade-in not an aftermarket green colored case none of that nonsense. Recently I guess I've seen their up to about $2,200 or so? I'd have to go literally look and then that would leave $4,600 or so for the installation boy I'd love to have that job No I would run from that I did buy my Toyota battery from Toyota online in my state and got the online price and picked it up at the dealer that's how you have to get the price the lowest price is buy it online through your local Toyota dealer but online pick it up at the dealership that's closest to you or where you are regularly or whatever and then when you're trade-in goes through they'll knock that off and in my case I wound up paying what I stated above.

$7k is very high. Call around to other Toyota dealerships and ask for quotations.

Call Steve from phoenixhybridbatteries.com he can get you the same Toyota OEM battery for about half the price you got quoted
