I'm still amazed of the timing. I do agree was inevitable and more than likely EGR Circuit lax care, oil from not only the PCV Valve circuit and maybe not flushing the coolant now that I think about and read mentioned.

Did you happen to use the reported "new" Prius head gasket shown in The Car Care Nut at this time for the Lexus Head Gasket Replacement... video?

Thinking I'm going to call around to the dealerships service centers next to see what I find.

I guess a key would be another step. But if the thief is smart enough to bet beyond the immobilizer, seems like they would be smart enough to hotwire.

And what did that lady mean about covering the VIN? Is that a thing?

If you never have to drive very far you could trade into one of these possibly for $10k or less.

Due to “battery replacement “. It should be warrantied for another 6+ years (depending on when it was replaced)

I should look around locally for a deal like that. Tax credit too I think

I was wondering too. Maybe having your VIN they can access something to duplicate the fob??

That makes sense to me about the VIN covering. Many are accessible to anyone who looks at the bottom of the windscreen. It's like a social security number, IMEI or MAC address.

I'd like a Bolt. Main issue would be my wife going to see her mother in Minnesota a couple of times a year. She could always rent for the trip.
We would charge at home, which is no great shakes. Who cares about infrastructure and non available chargers... well, mostly.
It could charge on level 1 and take days for our usual low miles motoriing. Journeys away from a comfort zone of charge though, around here, erm troublesome.
Finding one locally would also be a mission. I think I once saw a Tesla, it's that kind of area. F150, sure, knock yerself out over the thousands in every driveway.

Reliable older cars would be an option, but I'm sure my other half would state we have one already :)
I'll have that Bolt in the picture, with free delivery :D

a bolt as an only car would make me uncomfortable. as a second car it would be fine for me, but these are all personal situations.
i sleep well knowing we have one car that will travel 700 miles without needing to be refueled

That's how it is here... makes sense completely as a second car.
We could live with it, but not enjoy it with the limited range and lack of charging infrastructure in the area.

Though, at the price of the one above, I'd enjoy living with it :)
