I know there are posts here about (1) Warped Dash board on the right front side and (2) issues with the Steering Column recall (SCC-60C). I'm simply trying to get the most updated info on how to approach Toyota about these 2 concerns.

    (1) I have seen the photos of the warped dash and upper glove box issues and read some of the posts. the photos I've seen look exactly like my car's dash. With all the excellent communication on PriusChat has anyone gleaned a "best" approach to have Toyota take this concern seriously without much run around from Toyota? I looks like the air bag deployment might be affected negatively from this warping. I'm just trying to benefit from every-ones knowledge because my dealer is along way from my home.

    2) The Steering Column recall (SCC-60C) went smooth but now there's a click when I change gears with the shift knob and also it seems there is a slight tilt to my steering wheel to the right.

    I love this user group!

Wonderful news! My dash is fixed and my upper glove compartment is fixed. Thanx to PriusChat! I communicated with the TMS rep that was on this thread or other threads on this site. The Toyota TMS guy told me to take in my car to my local Toyota Service Dept and see what they say. I was refused. Shortly after reporting what happened I got a call from Toyota directly. Took my car in on an appointment and had the Corp. Rep for the area look at the problems and spoke with the service mgr at the local Dealer.

They offered to replace my dash if I paid for 2 hrs labor and if I wanted to I could pay for the upper glove compartment at $153 and they'd install that at the same time for the same 2 hr. time allotment. I then called Toyota Corp and told them the verdict. Toyota Corp said if I paid the bill that they'd reimburse me for the upper glove compartment pats. In the end, all is fixed like new for 2 hrs labor (approx $200 out of pocket). This took a lot of patience on my part. It wouldn't have happened without the wonder of the internet and PriusChat.

Part of an alignment job is to straighten the steering wheel so that when you are going down the road it is in the straight ahead position (versus looking like you are turning slightly left or right).

Go back to the dealership and have them redo it as part of the steering column recall. If they won't, worst case scenario, have them do an alignment... which will help your tires also, and cost you around $100.
