I just put a CT 200H seat in my car and I wired it to the 12 volt battery. I have a 30 am inline fuse on it, but I also would like to install one of those small underseat subwoofers. I have been told that you can't exceed 30 amps on the Prius 12 volt battery. Would adding a subwoofer be a problem since I don't use the seat all the time? Hopefully this makes since.

I think the output of the battery is enough, but the current of the battery is much higher when the starter is working. I don't know if the power cord is enough, you can pull another power cord.

I think you been told 300 amps, because the cold cranking amps of a prius battery is around 300. If you need more amp draw, just install a battery that has a higher rated CCA.

I think what james wang is referring to is when the prius is in ready mode, the current of the 12v battery is stronger considering it is charging slightly above its rated voltage of 12v. But also you wouldnt have to worry about killing the battery that way since its being charged.

You can exceed 30 amps easily, as long as you arnt using a really thin wire of which is physically impossible for electrons of high amps to travel through. Just make sure to add fuses near the battery so your areas of high resistance in the wires dont burn.
