I've read a few similar posts and most people are told they're nuts....but unfortunately (or fortunately) I'm not nuts:) Car put in park, turned off, and periodically re-starts itself. Happens once in a while and we've been able to catch it. Well, this morning I got to work late, so I was rushing around, left key in ignition and went out at lunch to everything being dead. Going to guess it started itself, ran out of gas (it was pretty low), and then everything stayed on until the 12V died. Haven't tried to jump it yet, but really could use some advice on what's going on with the re-starting thing???
    Thanks in advance.

how can you be sure you powered down? you don't have to be nuts to be forgetful (like me, although i'm nuts too) or in a hurry.
i guess the first thing i would check is the power button, but then, you need your foot on the brake too.
maybe a bad or corroded ecu?

So does this only happen when you leave the remote in the car not in the slot but in the cup holder the center console down on the edge of the seat wherever I wouldn't necessarily say anybody's crazy but I many times have left the Gen 3 sitting there on My wife goes out to get in it and leave and she calls me and like you know the car was on and I moved it 4 hours earlier so I could get something through the driveway anyway so I know that is possible I rarely do it with the generation 2 but with the three I seem to do it right regularly. Is yours a silverbacked remote You have SKS with the button under the steering wheel? That is very interesting I've never really pondered that at all The car just starting up all by itself from being off no display wild I don't even I'm not even sure how that would work because it couldn't ready itself unless you have a stuck permanently brake pedal or something which I don't even think that would work.

If you have the increasingly more common combination meter (CM) failing to start, then you might not actually be turning the car off when you think you are. When the CM fails to start you do not have a speedo, gear selection, warning light, etc.

    Could it be that?
