    Hi all,

I recently picked up my '04 Salsa Red #9 Prius. I am planning to install an OEM EV switch and noticed that the dimmer switch that is located next to where the EV switch would go it is not illuminated when the headlights and other panel switches are. It seems the writing is silkscreened on and never meant to light.

Is this normal or has this changed? Does anyone have a backlit dimmer switch?

    Thanks,

    Mike V. <><

mine's not backlit either, but you can still tap into it to illuminate your EV button.

No backlighting here either. Interesting too because the dimmer gets both full voltage with ground, and reduced voltage positive leads for the dimmer. I believe, however, that it's because the rheostat is also a "switch" when in the "fully on" to override the dimming on some devices that read the signal electronically, such as the MFD and combination meter.
