Well after the last few weeks I might have settled my urge to get sticky tires. This thing is fun to hoon around with limited traction, and taking corners quickly after coasting in and light acceleration out is good for MPG right? I bought a BRZ in 2013 and that car came with the "Prius tires" at the time and everyone loved how fun it was to slide the car easily with less traction. No power oversteer in the Prius unfortunately....
I have dedicated this last tank to trying out my "hypermiling" skills. Using ECO mode, limited use of HVAC (its perfect weather here) and trying to drive smoothly and relatively slowly without ever holding up anyone else. Have about 72mpg average after 150 miles on this tank, and have some short trips that have been insane at between 85-89 mpg. Not using the air conditioning on full blast sure seems to help the most, followed by increasing thought put into how I use EV mode on certain parts of my trip, keeping the pedal right under the "E" in the "ECO" sign on the gauge to keep the ICE from kicking in. When I bought the car I was super happy at the thought of gettng EPA estimated 57 mpg, but now I am getting greedy. Pump up the tires and remove the side mirrors? Kidding......kinda.

With 1300 total miles now maybe she is breaking in a little as well, and I continue to be very surprised at how much fun I am having driving this thing vs other crazy cars I have had.

Very nice and congrats! We just picked up a Wind Chill Pearl LE, and the first thing we did was remove the HEV badge. It def does not belong on this car. If you want stickier tires maybe think of finding some XLE takeoffs so you can go up to 19 inch wheels. We did that and it adds a nice flair to the LE. Fuel economy will go down a tad but still, over 50mpg in a car like this is an engineering feat in and of itself.

I have to assume the Q solenoid is operating as advertised since it took about .4 off my 0-60 time. That was after a few days running it hard in sport mode for the computer to adapt/learn. When my wife drives it in eco for a few weeks, I have to reboot the 12V battery and run it hard again for a few days for the computer to re-adapt. Pain in the butt actually....

Nice work man! I'm going for 700+ miles on my current tank. Details are in this thread: 2023 LE fwd mpg, what are you getting? | Page 6 | PriusChat
