Trans shudders when slight acceleration. It’s not the motor. Idles perfect . Stops when no acceleration. No warning lights and no stored codes. Ideas? Car has only 112k miles

Change the ATF. You'll be out about $75 bucks and 2-3 hours of your time. This won't fix an actual hardware issue, but you'll find out if there's large metal chunks at the bottom of your transmission/trans-axle. If that's the case, start looking for a good used replacement.

    Hope this helps....

I'm currently having that issue with my 2010 Prius V. It started while driving at about 60 mph, so I stopped to see if I was loosing a tire. All Tight! So I limped the last 3 miles home at 15 - 20 mph. It's slight on a flat surface, smooth while coasting on a downgrade, and more noticeable while going up an incline. I've recently changed all 4 bearings, rotors and calipers, and I noticed my MPG go from 35ish back up to 42 - 45 depending on the temperature. I think I'll start with a Tranny fluid change, and see where we sit from there.

Pay attention to you power distribution icons. If the car shutters while the engine is ON and doesn't do it when the engine is off - you may have an intermittent misfire in one or more of your cylinders. The main culprit for that is usually a failing ignition coil(s); but on a gen 3 you may also have a head gasket issue.

    Good Luck....

250K+ miles. It seems that one of the TRQ front bearings failed after less than 3 months/3000 miles. After changing the fluid, and taking her for a test dive, the problem started again after 2 miles. Assuming it was the transmission at this point, I had it towed to a repair shop. 2 days, and $450 dollars later I'm back on the road. I'm happy my transmission is OK, and I'm sure it liked the Much Needed fresh transmission fluid, but I'm concerned about having 3 more potential time bombs on the remaining 3 corners of the car. I'm dealing with TRQ now.
