IMO, the seats are pretty uncomfortable, and my wife is kinda short so as passenger she is uncomfortable. Sooo... I'm going to talk to an upholstery guy and see about building us better bottom cushions.

    The question:
I plan to remove the seats myself, and I was thinking if a sound deadener material would be easy to put in. Or is the carpet glued down, or is it more trouble than it is worth.
Also, are those special torx type bolts or a Toyota creation?
    Thanks in advance.

Once you have the seats and center console and door trims removed the carpet should pull right out. Coming from someone who just tore their entire 21 apart doing the suspension, stereo and sound deadening, I wouldn't bother with the floor. For the time and effort you will get much better results from soundproofing the roof with both butylene and foam.
