    Hi all,
Did an evaporator cleaning last night. Some cleaner leaked out onto the mats. Passenger side had maybe an ounce or 2 worth of dirty cleaner and drivers side a few spots.
Drained it out and ran the fan on high for about 30 minutes before I put it all together and closed it up. No warning messages or lights.
This morning as my daughter turns on the car to go to school the hybrid system malfunction warning is on. Goes into drive and everything seems fine. Any ideas what the cause maybe?

Did you find out what’s the problem? Not safe to do evaporator cleaning on prime?

Took the car to the dealer after it cleared itself a few days later. They said a low voltage for the abs was the only stored code so they charged the 12V battery cleared the ECU and no problems.
2nd time I've gotten the hybrid malfunction warning. First time was when the car was about 1 years old and in winter. At least that time it was covered under warranty. Had to pay this time but at least it was only 30 min diag fee.

I got the error message when my battery was drained because I was doing wiring and mods i to the car for 10 straight days without driving it. Doors open lights on ect, when I charged the battery drove it around the block and can't back, it went away. I did some research and a lot of times this is just a generic message for something happened that the car didn't like but nothing's really wrong.

I ran the fan for about 5 minutes on ign 1 but turned it on for the remaining 25 minutes. No lights or anything. Warnings came on the next day.
Also earlier this year in the middle of December the 12V factory battery decided it had enough and quit. That time no warnings at all so go figure. Guess a dying 12V battery is ok but any other low voltage issue isn't. Who knows, either way it's fine now. Bet it'll be another 5-6 years before the next hybrid warning

If you have a scan tool on hand that is able to read the hybrid system trouble codes when that happens, you have an advantage. There are couple hundred different ones possible (maybe more in this generation), and some of them you might shrug off and others might get you proactively thinking about a repair, so it is nice to know what the car is wanting to tell you.

On the other hand, if you haven't got such a tool handy, and the warning goes away, it's pretty much don't-worry-be-happy until it comes back.

You should def always have some sort of scantool in hand 100%. You can get a cheap unlicensed Techstream dongle online for about $30-$40. You will need an older laptop. A cheap generic scantool is like $20 at Walmart. I like having access to all my cars functions so I have both.

Have a Foxwell scanner with the Toyota code reader but it can't read the hybrid system, doesn't even have the PP listed so I emailed CS. Waiting for a response.
Just bought an Autel MP808BT Pro during Prime Days. Gives me 30 days to figure out if the Foxwell is missing an update and whether the Autel can test the hybrid system.
