Right but if I had a Prime it would most often never be fully charged. The 120V would be nice too but I’ve already been pushing my luck by rejecting that last Prius. I just want to be sure I can safely run HVAC in a regular Gen 5 Prius. I keep thinking they changed something in either the Gen 4 or 5 making it more challenging to do overnights. Yes, the engine cycling on would drive me nuts but in an emergency I could deal with it. I wasn’t sleeping during Sandy because I was too cold in my apartment. Yes, I’m a person living in the edge with no generator or family to stay with when these things happen. . : /

As long as you don't run the car in a closed space like a garage or your exhaust pipes are not broken, you should be safe from the exhaust fumes. You can also carry a carbon-monoxide alarm if you like. That is another great thing about the Prius Prime—I never run the ICE when I am in the garage so that I don't inhale any exhaust fumes.

Of course, if you ever go on a parking trip, you could charge a Prius Prime beforehand.
