Does anyone have experience with the Dr.Prius app hooked up to an OBDII bluetooth sensor to test the strength of the hybrid battery? Did you test your battery? Were you satisfied that the App gave you accurate results?

People seem to be pretty happy with it generally speaking I've never ever tested my battery at all I don't want to know about it till the battery's about to fail That's usually about 10 11 years generally if you're dealing with the Toyota battery so I don't really even with the Toyota software that I have I rarely look at the state of charge or any of that stuff as long as I'm seeing green and blue on the energy monitor and almost never magenta unless the air conditioner's running in a parking lot You're in good shape.

It said everything was ok and the battery died soon thereafter.

If I remember right, I ran it once on my 2010 and it said my battery was "ok" and at 55% capacity. Then, I ran it a week later and it said it was a bit weak at around 45% capacity. My son's car has a 2017 Toyota replacement battery and tested out at around 85%.

I think the results will vary a bit, but I also think it's probably the best (easy, cheap) tool out there for getting a picture of battery health.

To the OP, what were the results from Dr. P when you tested it?

According to all the various result written on prius chat, that dr prius app doesn't
seem very accurate for reading the hybrid battery.

Batteries are like people. One minute you’re healthy as a horse, the next day you’re at the wake

There are temps both (ambient and battery) that can change the test results.

Don't run the tests when the temps are below 70 F or above 90 F. or if you do scale the results.
