    This could get long...

These are the things I have scheduled to record each day of the week - we usually take 1 or 2 nights a week to actually watch TV.

    Sunday
The Amazing Race - the best reality show, without a doubt.
    Monday
Studio 60 - this show started out rocky, but Sorkin has it going in the right direction and I hope it will finish off strong in the Spring
    What About Brian
    Tuesday
Law & Order - Criminal Intent
    Law & Order - SVU
    Wednesday
Lost - Ugg.... don't get me started on this show.
    Thursday
What About Earl - usually have this on in the background while eating dinner or working on the computer
    the office
Scrubs - Most underrated show on TV
    30 Rock

I also watch just about anything on HBO except for The Sopranos:
    Entourage
    Rome
    Deadwood (RIP)
    The Comeback (RIP)

I've also been watching The Shield on DVD - excellent excellent show.

Just about anything on the Crime Channel. Also Simpsons, Family Guy, Monk, Doctor Who, South Park, Little Britain, Futurama, Robot Chicken and Greg The Bunny, to name a few.

Okay, I've put The Wire on my NetFlix list. I'll give it a try, though basically, I don't like the medium.

    Heroes
    Medium
    Grey's Anatomy
    Brothers and Sisters
    What about Brian
    Most Haunted
    Flip That House

House. I'll watch anything with Hugh Laurie. I got my Mom hooked too.

    And Meerkat Manor.

Sunday: not much. I'll watch Extreme Home Makeover if there's nothing else on. If I'm at my parents' house I watch what they watch: Amazing Race and Desperate Housewives. But if I'm home I don't bother.

Monday: Studio 60. I'm still hoping for better.

Tuesday: House, NCIS, the two Law and Orders. Yes, have to use the VCR.

Wed: Lost. Project Runway and Top Chef when they're on.

    Thursday: CSI

    Friday: Meerkat Manor, Monk, Psych

Saturday: Nothing unless there's a good movie.

I caught a new show on USA about the Canadian Secret Service but can't seem to find where the show finally landed. I'd add that if I could find it.

I've also on occasion watched: Two and a half Men, My Name is Earl, Bones, Men in Trees, but usually because I'm visiting my parents and that's what they're watching.

Lost, which is one episode away from jumping the shark.

Heroes, the premise is better than the show, but, the premise is great!

Studio 60, flawed, mainly because Sorkin can't make SNL seem important. Sports [Sports Night] and politics [West Wing] are things people care about. Still, unimportant Sorkin is better than no Sorkin at all.

Gilmore Girls, well, maybe not this year.

    Veronica Mars, see Gilmore Girls.

On MSNBC, Hardball with Chris Mathews and Countdown with Kieth Olbermann.

Ugly Betty, yes, I'm a chick-show guy. You should be, too! :D

I've only seen one BBC America show mentioned thus far, and it is one of my favorites: Little Britain. Also, Black Books, I'm Alan Partridge, and Bargain Hunt. There's a new show called Dealing with Dickinson that we've been making sure to record as well.

As for American TV, Daily Show, Simpsons, MythBusters, Small Space Big Style, How I Met Your Mother . . . are a few. Of course, any time a Red Sox game might be on, that would qualify as a favorite!

Without a doubt: Battlestar Galactica. It's far and away the best show on television. I have every episode, starting with the four-hour pilot, recorded on my PC (windoze media center). It's starting to fill up my quarter-terabyte hard drive.

How come no one is watching 24? It's a great show. The plot, from season to season, is rather repetitive; but it's an entertaining, addicting show. Why, do tell, do you not watch it?

I too, like word puzzle games like Wheel and Lingo. I also enjoy Ugly Betty.

Frontline has produced some of the best documentaries Ive ever seen. They have archives for online viewing
    http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/view/
Some of the must see Frontline episodes ,
    "The Man Who Knew "
about the FBI terrorism expert John Oneil who was an Alqueda expert ,forced out of the FBI a month before 9/11 and died working as the head of security at WTC.
    "Is Wal-Mart Good for America?"
How China has become our manufacturer .
"The Jesus Factor." How Bush won the election due to the evangelical vote.

HBO is producing some of the best drama Ive recently seen on either TV or the big screen. They are a like a Hollywood movie studio of the 30s -40s.Im sure the past HBO years will be looked back upon as a filmmaking renaissance.
Carnivale ,Deadwood,Rome are my favorites so far.Sopranos was good.I just joined Netflix so I can rent the past 5 years of the Wire.

Ditto.. easily the best Science Fiction show to originate on this side of the pond. Ever.

Of course, nothing tops Doctor Who. :)

It's the pure repeatativeness and unrealistic nature of the show that finally got me give it up...

I watch soaps: Days of our Lives and As the World Turns. Sometimes Y & R.
For prime time my shows got thrown off the air and I have to watch on the web:
Vanished and Kidnapped. Kidnapped was my favorite.

Some other shows I watch sometimes are:
    Desparate Housewives
    Smalleville
    Heroes
    Chris Mathews
    Stargate Atlantis
    McLaughlin Group
    House

I should add that I only get free tv. No cable.

    Here comes Evan's annual 24-hating. :)

I forgot to mention it since it's not quite January 14th yet.

Oh, and I forgot to list American Idol.

Ah yes, the BBC. I like Life on Mars. Cop from 2006 gets hit by a car, wakes up in 1973. All the coppers are crooked, smoke a lot and drink all day. Great acting, great music, great leather jackets! [Apologies to to non-smokers, non-drinkers and vegans].

Yeah, I watched "Oz" too but it's been gone for some time now. Is "The Sopranos" ever coming back? Their season is so short and time between so long.

If you don't want to spend the money on a Tivo and also want to have the latest equipment and recording features which are getting better all the time, then you can rent a DVR from your cable service. Mine will do HDTV recording also. Whenever something better comes out I order a new box. But Evan is absolutely right. Not only can you record and view at your leisure, you can skip the fifteen or so minutes per hour of commercials when you view.

Yes, I forgot that I record these two every night. I also like "Crossing Jordan." "Num3rs" started out with high promise but kind of drifted techno-silly after a while. It became contrived for me.

Not following the new shows much, but still enjoy reruns of the old. Currently I regularly watch the old "The Untouchables" series, perfectly remastered, a 5 star. I ended up subscribing to Netflix when I found I could no longer relate to the new TV shows that much anymore. Occasionally catch CSI Miami and other such shows. Very well done but I miss the lone detective with sidekicks vs the forensic "teams" they have now, and it does get tiring being in the morgue all the time. The other night happened to tune in to "Bones". Wasn't too bad, but maybe it was the interesting topic of voodoo that was the attraction. The History channel is always on my list when a subject of interest comes up.
