Hello everyone, this week, i won a HV baterry from a friend of mine who changed his gen3 HV Bat for a 2022 corolla cross hybrid, my plan is to connect each of my blades togheter with his blades so the voltage dont change and trigger the car, instead i'll be updating the battery amperage, wich will give me more range, what do you guys think about this plan?

um.. more range? do you have a PIP? just curious how you will be updating the amperage? not to sound rude, but it sounds like this is your first time working with HV batteries, am I correct?

hello there! well, i mean, more range = i'll instal a HV Charger and a voltage regulator to it so i can fill both batteries at home (limited to 75~80% to avoid waer in battery cicles) my usage is aways short ranges. my plan is to not trigger any diferrence in ECU as it (from what i learned) is meausure by the voltage of the modulos, i'll post a pic, its a simple plan and if you can add something that i dont know, will be great! thanks!

Why did you start 3 different posts when there's so many threads on here that already answer your question?

The thing is.. those are two different models of Prius, they are not the same... is your Prius a plugin? if so.. if yours is a plugin and his was not, his batteries wont work in your vehicle.

That second video was a bit interesting (skipped the first). He says and shows a Toyota Avalon HV battery being installed as his "second" battery. Pretty sure the Avalon has the same battery as the Camry, which is a 34 module battery. So he has a 244v nominal battery connected in parallel with the OEM 202 volt battery. If so, this guy has no clue what he's doing and is driving around with a pretty much depleted "second battery".

I didn't really catch if both batteries are on line at the same time or not, maybe they're not, but either way....Sketchy AF, at a minimum.......fire waiting to happen?

There's a lot of quality work in that trunk.....

It's been a while since I've driven a PiP, so can anyone tell me what the MID says at 4:19 of the Prius Plug-in + = tesla video? And if anyone has a PiP and DrPrius what is your voltage range?

I've been looking for a non PIP Prius to purchase and used to test theories. Personally, I don't think having additional battery capacity will improve anything on a non PIP Prius. I do plan on testing the impact on a non PIP when using a PIP battery. That would be IMO the most ideal implementation of additional batteries for a non PIP.

Absolutely! Armchair theorizing can indeed be a starting point for progress. Without brainstorming and exploring different ideas, it's tough to move forward effectively. It's wild to think that it's been over a decade and the exploration into getting more out of the Prius hasn't seen much traction. Sometimes it takes just one bold step or innovative idea to break through and open up new possibilities. Theory is great, but action propels us forward!
