Greetings from my side. I recently, purchased a Toyota A touring premium selection 2019 vehicle and i am facing issues while driving over high speed breakers in our country Bangladesh, unfortunately.

I heard that i can increase the Ground clearance by adding aluminum coil etc. But i think changing the tire is better. Please guys advise me.

My current tire size is: 215/45-17inc official. (Check attachment)

    So what I wanted is > should I go with 215/60 ?

I can get escaped from high speed breakers by increasing my car ground clearance by adding 1 inc or little more. Please advise.

I have 17 Inc rim so please advice on how can i achieve higher ground clearance (1Inc Plus) and i should not get rubbing troubles etc.

Many many thanks in advance. Your advises will be blessing to me.

    Cheers

Can you describe "high speed breaker" in more detail? Are they there to slow traffic down?

Speedbreaker to lower the vehicle speed on roads. And in our country Bangladesh, the speedbreaker height is not maintained properly.

In some roads, it is 3 Inc to 4 Inc. In some roads, they are 6 Inc.

When car is fully loaded, the ground clearance decreases from 5.1 inc to 4 Inc maybe.

I think If I can increase 1 inc car height, that may solve this issue a lot. (Like 80% solution) hehe

    please assist :)

    That is way too much.

Changing tire sizes seems extreme, comes with drawbacks. I'd advise to just slow to a dead crawl, or avoid such roads (if possible). That's my tactic here (they're called speed bumps in North America). Typically they're 3~4 inches, and especially if they're very abrupt, the only way to go is dead-slow.

Even if you increase ground clearance, while you may clear, if you're hitting them at any speed they're causing stress to wheel bearings and suspension.

The ones I particularly dislike go across the road on a diagonal, causing you to rock side-to-side, hard on the neck.

So you are not recommending to me for increasing the tire size? Then what about any other car height increasing option? In this country, I must have an option like this.

You'll need to install a 40mm lift kit, in order to install taller tires - otherwise they'll rub and possibly rip out your plastic inner fender liners.

Look at this website: PRIUS 2016-2022

I have no idea how to get them in my country, Bangladesh :(

Any more suggestions? I called one workshop who are experts in modification etc. he said that i should do coilover and front 1 inc and rear half inc.

    Any more suggestions, please?

Coil-over modifications are the most expensive option and it messes with your alignment. The body lift is the least expensive option and any alignment issues can be adjusted out without replacing additional equipment. Going beyond a 40mm lift will require additional suspension equipment and adjustments.

IMHO; find another 'expert'; it sounds like this guy wants to empty your wallet. Those lift kits are also available in the European market and probably the Asian markets - you just need to do some research.

That link (#7) answers all your questions, including maximum tire size.

Yes going up to a 60 series tire would be the easiest way to raise your ride height some. You can alwa try them and see if they rub.

I had these lifts installed on my ‘22-Limited
It sat so low that my wifey would scrape front end entering & exiting standard residential driveways, retail centers, and parking lot space concrete bump stops.
The 1.5” lift did the trick.
It set me back abt $900 after the parts ($300 for discounted blemished spacers), installation ($500), and alignment ($100).
    But it was worth it.
I didn’t add larger tires to the equation.

P.S. could I have installed myself & saved $500? Probably, looks very straightforward in the videos

If you have the tools and everything yes it's a very easy installation, especially since your not taking apart the shock assembly so you don't need a spring compressor. The biggest pain was taking apart the rain tray in front to get to the upper three bolts. It only took me about 4 hours to do the entire suspension on this car.

Congratulations on your lift kit. One reason it was difficult to guarantee that 215 60r 17 tires would not rub is that they are 2.6 inch in diameter more than your 215 45 17 tires.

    Tire Size Comparison

There are posts here at priuschat about custom wheels and tires that fit without rubbing in many different sizes and the accessories needed if they are too big and do rub.
@black_jmyntrn may have some suggestions for you with your lift-kits and what size tires are possible to install without the worry of rubbing with the many possible rubbing spots for your particular needs.
