Radio slow to turn on

    Ok a strange question. All of the sudden it takes a long time for my radio etc. to to turn on. After pressing the power switch it seem like it takes 20 seconds or more for the sound to appear. Just started doing this.
    Anyone had this problem? Wondering if I changed some setting accidently.

    Are you listening to a CD with MP3s on it? It takes the system about 15 seconds to start playing MP3s on my 2006 with the JBL stereo upgrade.

    No. No nothing. Simply turning on the radio for the first time during the day and it takes 20- 30 seconds minium.
    Does this sound like a radio malfunction?

    does the sound kick on all of a sudden or gradually fade in? click or pop noises before, during or after music beginning? and does it do this regardless of audio mode? lean toward an amplifier based on what you've written here but that's not much more than an educated guess right now.

    Does pressing buttons on the screen also delay in beeping? If so, then the amp is probably the problem. If not, it could still be the head unit, or NAV/display could be holding the mute line.
