Why is apparently no one buying a Prius/Prius Prime on the East Coast?

Calling every dealer in east coast is not feasible, but did you look at the FB group? https://www.facebook.com/groups/nomarkuptoyota/ if you do search, a dealer from NJ posted yesterday about an allocation. And in the end, you need to look into their refund policies and commit by placing a deposit.

Thank you, but I don’t do Facebook, and I’m not signing up just for this.
I’m content to wait until supply increases hopefully, but my real point in this thread is that the title is and was, nonsense.
You can’t look at online inventory and assume it is correct

I'm in the Boston area, and I got on a dealer's Prime XSE waiting list back in May. I think there were 6 or 7 names in front of me at the time. The salesperson said that the SE and XSE Premium waiting lists were longer. That's unfortunate for the people on those other lists, because it's been my observation that Toyota's been building more XSEs than the other trims. At that dealership, if they got an allocation for two XSEs they might get one XSE Premium and maybe an SE. The Google Docs Prime allocation sheet that I've been tracking seems to be consistent with this ratio as well.

I finally got my allocation last night. The dealer expects it to arrive in January, but based on my recent experience in purchasing a Corolla from them, it might be sometime in February. Going to pay MSRP with no markups and no requirements to finance with them. It includes the only option I asked for, which were the all weather floor and cargo liners.

I had considered asking for the 12.1 inch display, but I was told that Toyota was typically building with that option plus the fixed glass roof together. I don't want the fixed glass roof, and I didn't want the 12.1 inch display that badly, especially since it would mean the volume knob would be closer to the passenger side.

According to the Toyota web inventory, 2024 Prius Primes may start arriving at the dealers as early as on Monday, November 20, 2023.

I am looking at PHEV's now and was interested in the Prius Prime but OMG BLACK ONLY interior with red. I hate black interiors for how hot they get in the summer. I refuse to even test drive it for that reason. I really wanted to because of all the other aspects. Toyota, you screwed up by making it black ONLY. I need a beige or grey lighter interior option. I will be taking my business to Volvo.
