Not "car guy", help identifying part.

    Could anyone point me to a blueprint catalog to identify this part, or even give me the part#/name to start looking for used replacement. Any other model/years prius use the same part? IT was a bar that spanned across the back, and was half rusted through(planned to look for new one this year); then I suspect it broke off from part of a deer carcass 'went over' a month ago.

    2014 Prius v.

    It looks like it would be a fairly simple unbolt and replace like a trailer hitch bar, provided nothing slumped apart on the bars breakage... but I'd still need to get a better look. Any info on it welcome.

    Can see in my 3rd picture, that piece/assembly is still intact and quite solid; the 'missing' piece was rather thin but the next cross member towards the front of the car.. hmm

    part of the server migration, could be awhile. but your pics don't look like the axle beam, more superficial i think. is there a sway bar, maybe aftermarket?

    Dealers are quite a drive away, and as I'm just trying to find the part number to find something cheaper(and installed elsewhere/myself) didn't want to take their time.

    Since uploading is still not working, trying this to share another picture ...

    Looks like a body brace that may also partially support the gas tank. My car has a similar part. A body shop or a dealer could find the part. Possibly available aftermarket from the body shop.

    So is there a toyota parts web site by chance that has schematics and part numbers to 'zoom in' and just select the part for info? I tried a few sites that came close in .pdf's but this area isn't part of 'main component blocks that I could find.

    Wow.. These programmable wireless keys were bad enough.. Hopefully the used car prices will remain as 'high' by the time I return the Canukistan in the spring and I think I'm going to sell. Gonna go be a legacy S10(2.2L) guy I think.. 2014 with ~125,000km Prius v's were apparently selling for ~17000 CAD. Seemed to be similar in Florida at ~13000 USD; but pretty sure I can't easily/legally sell cdn titled car without import rigamarole.

    The easiest and sometimes fastest way to find a part number is down at the dealer’s part department, if you go there.

    Another way is eBay where sellers often have generic names and Toyota part numbers included. Search by generic name. Once you have a part number you can look it up on one of the online dealer’s sites and then verify against your year, model and trim. If it does not fit they offer a link to parts that will.

    Finally prices vary widely at different dealer sites. All are less than msrp but some can be 20% discount while others can be as low as 50%. If you find a good price at a local dealer you can ship to store to avoid shipping costs.

    Toyota dealer in my home town has not replied to their web contact. Guess I'll have to start a phone harassment campaign; or spend the 3~hrs to nearest dealer; such BS for a part number. There should be 3d models of every car and clickable part details for numbers these days..

    For forum posterity, "My" toyota dealer says it is :
    PNC: 53605F, Description: BRACE SUB-ASSY, REAR SUSPENSION. Part Number: 53605-47021. Usage: ZVW41
    $416.35+Tax(15%) Canadian.
    Apparently in the states it is $168-$200 USD(~240-$270 CAD).
    Now I wonder if there's one in a scrap yard for $20/$50...

    It did only take 3 attempts... Interesting once I found it, and searched the part; similar #'s throughout forum with same issue.. Designed to fail I suspect... charge hundreds for a $5 part.

    Yup, I just failed inspection for this part. As I said to my wife, over $200 for a $5 piece of cheap steel. Was it definitely part #53605-47021?

    I've honestly thought about that. There really is not much to this brace with no real complicated bends. The problem is my inspection sticker expires in a couple of weeks and I'm not really around the remaining weekends to spend the time on it.
