Rear wheel well liner replacement

Is 65637-47021 the correct part for the passenger side, rear wheel well liner for a 2011 Gen 3 Prius hatchback? In the parts photo below, it is #13 in the illustration, but it is labeled as a Quarter Panel Splash Shield. Also, what other fasteners, part numbers and quantities, will I need to attach the liner? Thanks.



For anyone curious why I need to replace the wheel well liner, read on...

Our 2011 Prius hatchback ran over an object at freeway speed. It ripped off the entire side of the engine splash shield where the oil change access door panel was, dislodged a custom crossbrace, took out the rear shield of the catalytic converter shield that was behind the crossbrace, and then blew out the rear passenger tire.

Since this occurred in morning rush hour traffic, the car was driven some distance before being able to safely get to the shoulder in a semi safe location. By that time, the tire sidewalls were completely worn through and the tire was flopping around the rim, which destroyed the wheel well liner.


Pictures show the original custom mid body crossbrace and rear catalytic converter shield. The destroyed custom mid body crossbrace alongside the OEM part it replaced. The OEM part was temporarily reinstalled while waiting for another custom mid body crossbrace. And finally, the rim and tire.

Reaccessed the damage today, looks like I don't need the wheel well liner, just a small splash guard in the front and rear of the wheel well.

Still not sure what the front piece is called. I think I have the rear piece identified.

Here's some pics of the driver's side of the rear wheel well.

First three pics are of the driver's side (undamaged), last two is the damaged rear piece of the back of the wheel well, and the missing front piece.

I need the corresponding pieces on the passenger side rear wheel well.

Local Toyota monopoly parts here in Hawaii (Servco) seems to have marked up the price some 100% on that little piece of plastic.


I'll see if buying online plus shipping will be more reasonable.

I placed an order with Amayama, the total with UPS shipping (estimate) came out $100 less than what Servco Toyota would have fleeced me for just the engine undercover/splash shield.

Is it common to get a message saying that the order needs to be checked/reviewed by staff? It might be something simple like confirming enough inventory for some of the clips/fasteners in the order.

Yikes, I just got an updated estimate of the order with a large increase in the original estimated shipping cost.

$496.31 for DHL shipping.

I'm trying to get another shipping estimate without the large engine undercover/splash shield.

Hoping it will be much more reasonable.

I would take that UPS shipping quote with a huge grain of salt, my original quote via UPS, pending review, was under $60.

Then the DHL quote was supposedly the best price of all the carriers.

Total order, including shipping, by canceling the largest item (engine undercover) changed my order from Amayama (Japan) from nearly $700 to $85.45 ($32.65 shipping via EMS).

I'm going to try to repair the original engine undercover. I had previously installed removable flag hinges on the oil change access door, which got totally ripped away from the main body of the undercover from the impact with the debris. Luckily, I was able to save the access door which ended up wedged into the rear wheel well.

Reinforcing the torn areas on the undercover, some plastic welding and replacing the hinges should get things back to almost where it was pre-impact.
