Since "everything is new" with the 2023 Prius Prime (to me at least), creating a thread to post your 2023 Prius Prime at public chargers.

(Also of interest is the power delivered and recharge time)

My first public Free! charge: 1.82 kWh in 0h 47min $free!

    First Free FPL Charge Point.JPG

The charger says it delivers "5kW Shared" - It delivered 1.82kWh in 47 minutes which is 2.34kW rate (roughly half of the "5kW Shared"). (The Prime claims to charge at up to 3.3kW rate.)

Of course the app has a totally bogus charge energy value of 0.5kWh.

    My estimate is 1.6kWh (1.82 * 90% efficient)
    - Level 2 charging is more efficient than Level 1 charging
(My charging at home is only 74% efficient)
    - This gives an actual miles/kWh of 4.1 for an "vehicle indicated" 4.4 miles/kWh
    - (Values for Tesla charging range from 99% down to 85% efficient)

Please reply with your public charges (or discussion)

maybe on the free public chargers it doesnt ramp up to the full 3.3kw. It is free afterall.

I know on the public chargers i use here in town it does max out at 3.3kw and a full charge of the traction battery costs $1.82USD

I did my second ever "free public charge" this week at a charge point that showed 7.4KW available to the two stations or 3.7kW available to charge my 2023 Prius Prime XSE.

I charged from 16% to 66% with 5.7965 kWh in 1h 35m which works out to about 90% efficiency like before, but free is really, really efficient!

For some reason I can't upload any photos/screenshots.
