The word They didn’t refer to any owners having to do anything. They are the panels themselves. “Don’t they have to be clean to maintain efficiency?” The answer is yes.

I saw an older man up on a two story and I felt dizzy from the ground. He should have had some kind of safety rope. I didn’t want to say hi how you doing up there to him either and scare him off to his demise. One ladder went to the first story, then another went to the second story from the first. I couldn’t believe him walking around up there. Older like about 70+.

Walking on the 3-ft edge & the ridge of a roof covered in panels can be unnerving. Our PV system had been commissioned for over 12 years when we sold the home about 2½ years ago. So i'd have been 64 or so - since the last time up. In a former life having worked as a tower monkey as well as gone up 40 ft or more on sailboat bosun's chairs ...

Well, that's paragraphs 19 and 20 out of 22. There's some other important paragraphs too, like how it can better match morning and evening power loads - something kinda important for a large solar farm.

Is the solar farm off grid? Is it in germany with a large amount of angled horizontal solar and they want to add more? Are you on agricultural land and want to plant between panels?

Those are the use cases stressed in the original study which was done assuming Russian natural gas wasn't coming back so that was important that with germany encouraging even higher levels of solar there was more diversity.

If that is not the case for you, then its really one of those meme fake articles that claim one thing until you get to the end. That is the reason for my post. Say you are in texas, New Mexico, Nevada, or Florida where peak demand is really for air conditioning and peaks when the sun does? Or you are a solar farm in california where the lower price of a conventional farm when the cost of the land is included is much cheaper for the power you produce. I have a less than ideal roof in an area where hail causes roof damage, it would be crazy to put up vertical panels for me or anyone else that wanted roof top where weather is less than ideal. In texas evening and morning wind more than fill in the solar, but texas has a lot more wind and a lot less solar than germany.
