Is Toyota Techstream the only software to do a brake reset?

It may have been true in the early days, but it is not anymore. Any professional-grade bi-directional scan tool with the Toyota add-on should be able to do it.

It wouldn't be too hard to check it out on the actual scanner. It will either have those functions or it won't.

 

And why would you do this just for giggles and whatever? Is there something wrong that makes you think your pedal's not what it should be? Or just the age and model of the car makes it seem like it should be done?

 

I did a brake reset with a Foxwell scan tool that he's upgraded. It wasn't complex enough to do the brake bleed, but enough to clear the codes in the ABS. (I was also able to change the TPMS IDs using his scan tool).

The Car Care Nut YouTube channel has a couple videos on bi-directional scan tools, and I've been thinking about getting one of the XTool D7 or D8 scanners.

 

Yes you can buy a 25 to $50 TPMS relearn tool nowadays they make them for a specific series of manufacturers cars like there's one for Toyota that pretty much handles most of the Toyotas It just activates the relearn feature or something along those lines to make the car system wake up recognize this sensor that it has not been given a number to recognize it does and you do the next one No reason to be sitting around with the pamphlet and the number codes for each one of those sensors to me always seem like a bunch of foolishness.
