    Update: I changed the camshaft bearings and lash adjusters. 50% of the noise went away. Great but not good enough so I’m junking the car. I bought another 2010 with 300k miles and new hybrid battery for $2k. It had some issues but I took the parts I needed from the junked car to fix them all.

    There may have been a pinhole exhaust leak, or maybe the block was warped…I’m done guessing.

    I wonder if that's on its second engine and one of mine made it to 365 I think or 396 and I can't remember It's out here in the yard blown head gasket
