That should work, just be very careful where you put 12V power. Don't want to let "the magic smoke" out of anything.

I also prefer to use a jumper lead with a fuse holder added to it.

For sure and I have some inline fuse holders and an extra harness. I may have time to try it later this evening when I get home but I will post the results as soon as I do it. I am terrible at reading electronic diagrams so this is going to be challenging for me even with the manual. I appreciate you for helping.

It's also going to make you better at reading diagrams. Win-win!

OK, that gave it no change. Still just the car with the key light running though it. So I am really lost on what to even try next.

There's a thought, have you used your Techstream to scan all systems for codes?

Even if it's not turning on you should still be able to connect to about 5 systems : BCM, power source control, immobilizer, gateway, and smart key (if equipped).

Sorry for the delay but here are the codes. The car comes on and runs fine so no issues there.

Well I'm glad to report we are back 100% functioning now. I'm not sure exactly what fixed it tbh but I did swap the gateway box (after I got it working I swapped it back and it still works so not sure if this was part of the problem or maybe the connection just wasn't good on it but either way that was part of it). Then I did figure out some things I never knew but maybe important for someone in the future. Like I told you all I own 3 of these and over the years I have collected several combo meters. I also have a couple of the jumper harnesses that go from the 2 plugs at the dash to the 1 on the side of the combo meter. As I would change these I would get varying results (I thought they were all the same and maybe they are I just have some bad ones). I will post pics of the different things that would come up as well as 1 video if it will let me. Bottom line I finally found a set that worked good together with this car. Only thing was it was from an 06 or later. I know this bc the block behind the gear you are in is filled in white on the sides end not just a block outline and it also had the tpms function in it bc I had to unsolder that led to keep it from flashing bc this car doesn't have tpms (I don't think any prior to 06 do but I could be wrong). All that being said if you run into this issue be sure you use a compatible combo meter and compatible harness (or at least be sure neither are damaged). I am still confused why some of the ones that would work and come on in my 08 had no function come on in this car (05) but never the less we're back going. Thanks to everyone for their input!!! Btw if the video won't post it shows the key sense light blinking with the right blinker activated left blinker worked fine and key sense light quit blinking when I deactivated the right blinker. And yes all of these pics are in the same car just different meters and/or jumper harnesses.
