    There's something to what you say, but I remember a time when I was in the far right lane going the speed limit. To my right was an empty exit lane about a half mile away from the exit itself. To my left was a pickup, with their front bumper just behind my rear bumper. The driver suddenly sped up and cut close ahead of me to enter the exit lane. For the same trouble they could've eased up on the gas and slid behind. Now, why did they do what they did? I admit, this may have happened a lot when I wasn't driving the Prius and was just more aware of it that time.

    I really could care less about your life story, but umm, thanks for telling it to me? its quite obvious just because in your limited experience you personally have never seen something like that, so you automatically rush into this topic with your lips salivating trying to insult anyone who dares to come across with an attitude that you've decided is limited to "pious" drivers (isnt that cute, you even have a catchword)

    Seems to me like you get your kicks labeling others without any knowledge yourself. You know what we call those people? Simple minded. So please take your pious and your ivory tower and stop judging the experiences of others. Thanks for playing, goodnight!

    Ive seen the speed up and cut off in many cars, but I have also experienced backlash from wanna-be race drivers in their favorite companies car, say a GM fanboy in a vette, take on my buddy in a Ford Cobra, just because he has that competitive spirit. That could possibly carry over to cars where people like cbs believe anyone who buys one is because they feel special and persecuted, where drivers have that idea about a "pious" owners attitude and the fact that their cars threaten the very existence of gas guzzling adrenaline junkie cars.

    and one more thing, you joined over a year ago, and you dont even have 100 posts. Kind of shows exactly why you came to this forum, to bash others and not take part in conversations. I kindly suggest you exit this topic I created before you bury yourself even more in your own ego and hatred

    All I know is I've seen a lot of rude driving in my work commutes, and so have many of my co-workers. We work in a drug-free environment, etc...

    The problem seems to be the association of low IQ to road rage behaviors, if you ask me. I cannot believe the sheer stupidity of some of the drivers out there. Strangely enough, I do see a correlation between appearance and behavior, as well. The road-rage drivers tend to be rather cretinous looking individuals - not always, but more often than not. It makes me believe that Darwin is right and his theory still operable - the stupid will kill themselves off with stupid behavior behind the wheel. It saddens me that they seem intent on taking a lot of normal folks with them.

    I'm glad you're OK. Sorry about your terrible incident. I was very grateful later on after realizing if I was riding my Harley Sportster I wouldn't be here today.

    Actually, Progressive did pay in theory. We have no fault here in FL. The biggest problem with it is about 25% of ALL FL drivers have NO auto ins. And to add insult to injury our elected jerkoffs in Tall. voted to tack on our AUTO policies a Hurricane surcharge so poor Allstate & Nationwide can make up all their payouts. I was surcharged about $8 for both cars for a 6 mo. policy. Another strike against the Bush family. Of course, the uninsured fools still are driving around & N. Year's Eve is close. I was fortunate in that I carry xtra ins. for loss of work wages. I wasout of work for 10 weeks thanks to Miss irresponsible.

    Rednecks don't think. They react like most other barnyard animals. I live in a rural area that's full of them. I give credit when it's due and I say this to the average Redneck: You are fair in that you HATE everyone equally that disagrees with you about anything!

    [attachmentid=6052][attachmentid=6052]After reading all the posts about other drivers picking on Prius owners I couldn't figure out why nobody ever messes with me. Then my wife reminded me about the Harley Davidson decal I proudly display on the lower hatch window. Most people assume if you ride a Harley you're not to be messed with. And they are quite right in this case. I am a very mellow person ingeneral, but if someone tries to mess with me or my bike or anything else that's mine beware. I realized a long time ago that most people are basically stupid and will believe anything they see on a TV set. Hey, everyone have a Happy New Year! Walker1

    I think your last sentence sums it up nicely. I have driven about 1/4 million miles in my life. And only the last 5,000 of those has been in a hybrid. I had similar experiences happen to me (the way you describe it here) countless times.... while I've been driving in a standard car. There are some people who drive like idiots. That doesn't change if you happen drive a hybrid, an SUV or a motorcycle and witness it happening. I do think that sensitivities change with the cars we drive. It is sometimes hard to NOT read things into others' actions.

    Wow you are a bright one. unfortunately you twist around what I say to fit your narrow mind. A little upset I caught you for what you are, a troll? being proud of your year and only having less than 100 posts. Its too bad, any reasonable minded person I would explain what I ment, with you, I can just laugh it off. I'm sorry you have to pretend to own a car to justify your labeling. I experienced backlash twice in 3 days, and wanted to see if others did as well. Your response? we must all be full of ourselves, have huge egos, and have persecution complex. And then you are going to insult me for making assumptions? LOL! Listen, kid. You can stop pretending now and go ruin someone elses thread. Thanks

    OK, I have actually been rear ended by a tailgater who in a subsequent police report made a hateful remark about gay hybrid cars and how they should be banned from the public street and highways. The scary part about it was that he was driving a 5 ton truck and it was a trully scary moment for me.

    Unfortunately for him I had withnesses who helped me nail him for the insurance and a small claims court appearance. ;)

    On the other hand, I must also admit that I have two friends of mine who own Priuses that I simply cannot stand. They have this elitistic interpretation of their Prius ownership that seems to make them overly sensitive to everyone else on the road.
    I too, at times cannot help to feel a little sensitive particularly when I am driving "by the instruments" for FE reasons. I guess it is possible that I may frustrate others and that may not only make it worse for myself at that moment, but also for anyone else who visibly driving a hybrid afterwards.

    In any case, I fear this will continue to be a topic of much debate among Prius owners. We just have to do our part to not make things worse.

    Cheers;

    MSantos
