I've been in contact with Jesse Wright at Metro Toyota and am trying to organize another group purchase for the block heaters. Anyone interested?

Yes, they carry block heaters for both the 01-03 and the 04-07 models.

I am, just missed the last one and J said there were no dropouts of subscribers for that one. Thanks for starting another.

Funny you mention it, I'm going to be posting it in the Shop as the product of the month. Any idea what Jesse's group buy price was?

I just bought one in early December. It's not that cold in Raleigh, but we do see cold (30 -- yeah that's cold, here) morning temps. I only got around to installing it between Christmas and New Years, had I known it would trigger the warmest weather ever, I would have installed it sooner. Anyway, even on a 50 degree morning, instead of a 25MPG bar, then a 40MPG bar, then a 50 MPG bar, I now get a 30 MPG bar, then a 50 MPG bar, then another one. I really bought it for colder weather and peace of mind for the trips to the frozen north when the car might sit out in 5 below all night. Are the gas savings worth it? I figure my morning commute will see about 2MPG better, 1MPG overall improvement, so it's a tough call. If you have a shorter commute, then it is probably more cost effective, mine is 20 miles or so, and about half is spent warming up it seems.
