Ive heard thru the threads that the bra wont fit on the 2006 due to some mod on the 2006 front end. Also heard that the company who makes them was looking into a modify so it would fit.Anything new on this or will i need to continue to play dodge ball with the stones?

If I were to do anything, it would be to have a clear bra installed.

I've been waiting since February for the release of the 2006 OEM bra.

The last time that I spoke with Toyota about the subject I was told there is NOT a good chance that one will ever be released. Toyota is too busy trying to fix issues with other accessories for other vehicles. My "educated guess" would be that they will not release another front end mask for the Prius until the next body style is released. If you want to make the 2004-05 one fit you would simply remove the black plastic lower front spoiler from the bottom of the front bumper. That is the part preventing the mask from going on easily. There are people who have stretched the mask to fit with the spoiler on and it works but you can tell something is not quite right. Good luck with your decision.

I installed a bra on my 06. After reading this post, I'll have to go look at it again. I thought it fit ok, maybe I didn't know any better.

I just got back from a short road trip to Vegas and while there I found an installer that will do a VentureShield clear bra on my car for $500.00 I saw some of his work and it was great, so I made a reservation for 2 weeks from now. Hope my luck holds with the dodge ball. Just can't wait any longer for a proper fitting Bra....

I am also interested in getting the front end bra (mask) for my 2006 Prius. A dealer is selling them on ebay (Deland Toyota). I asked about whether the bra they are selling is specifically designed for the 2006, and was told, yes, the bra they are selling will fit the 2006 (but not the 2005).

Anyone have experience with the Toyota PT218-47050 front-end bra (mask)? Thanks.

I have black vinyl bras On bOth my Priuses, '04 & '06, and have been invOlved in cOuntless threadsOn the '06 prOblem. (The "O" is brOken On the machine I'm using at a friend's hOuse.)

The '04-'05 bra WILL fit the '06 if yOu remOve the plastic "air dam add-On" On the '06, Or even partially (drOp it dOwn, but dOn't remOve screws). Waiting fOr a mOdified '06 bra, IMO, is senseless cOmpared t pOtential damage. It takes 10 min. lOnger tO dO the extra wOrk.

LOOk up previOus threads fOr detailed infO if yOu need it. Just dO it.

OK, I've ordered the bra (for my car, that is). I will report back on my experience with the install and fit. We are moving to Tucson next month and our house is only accessible by driving approx. 1/2 mile on an unpaved road. So the bra will certainly help in protecting the front end. Thanks.

The part number and information that you were given is incorrect. That part number is for the mask for 2004-05 only. There is no mask for 2006. I think that they got their facts backwards. I would caution you before buying that mask from them.

I just installed that part number on my 06. Same issue with the screw on the bottom center blocking the last clip. I'll post pics tomorrow with a possible workaround.

    Bump.

It's been about 5 months since the last post in this thread and I just saw an eBay ad claiming to have a "Genuine Toyota Prius Front End Mask" (Part #:pT218-47050) that will fit a 2006-2007 Prius.

Does anyone know whether this bra really fits the 2006-2007 models w/the air dam or is this the bra that everyone has already said only fits the 2004-2005 models w/o the air dam?

Do a search on that part number. I think it is the "new" 2005 bra which does fit the 2006 just not easily. I removed the lower lip to install the bra and then put it back on. I think that is the part number.

Some on PC claim it fits their 06. I did not fit mine. Toyota also informed me there is no OEM bra for 06 or 07.
