    Hello all,

The tires on my 2013 Prius V five 77,000 miles, are at 4/32 and I’m looking at options for a set of replacement tires. Currently I’m running on Pirelli P7, they gave me just under 30,000 miles and 4 years of use- good tire overall but looking for replacement , summer tires that will give me the same mileage I’m getting now 43mpg, or better and maybe last longer too. Rain safety is a big consideration for me.
Tire kingdom guy told me to get all weather tires to get many more miles of use, but didn’t know how those would impact mileage.

I live in Florida now but plan on moving to DC to be closer to my family- won’t drive much in snow I don’t think but concerned about summer tires holding up in cold winter weather? Planning to move to DC within the next few months so most of the life of the tire will be DC life.

would all weather tires decrease gas mileage substantially?

So, do I go with a good all weather tire, stay with summer tires and which brand, model, do you suggest.

thank you all in advance for your time and help!

Thank you for your quick reply!

I was looking at those but this review on Tire Rack turned me off:

These tires replaced Michelin Primacy LTX DT tires which were discontinued. I immediately noticed a 10% reduction in gas mileage and a significant increase in road noise with the CrossClimate tires as compared to the Primacy LTX set. These discrepancies still remain even though the tires are older. I wish Tire Rack would include rolling resistance measurements in their overall analysis.

Tire wear and handling characteristics are as advertised; however, I do not normally drive aggressively.

I will not purchase these tires again.”

We replaced the OEM Toyo A20 with Continental PureContact 225/50R17 98V and have been very pleased with the wet and dry handling, noise, ride, and the new tires had no adverse impact on MPG, even when new.

Had defenders on my v and got 75,000 miles and no mpg decrease.
I rotated every oil change.... 42 front 38 rear psi.

Had the Cross Climate 2’s installed yesterday and they seem like great tires for the V, the short ride home was smooth and tires were quieter than what I replaced-

when I got into the car this morning the TPM light was on, checked the pressures and the rear right was at 12 pounds. Went back to Costco where I bought them they said the valve stem covers I had on the car were too short and one pushed the stem letting air out. Been using those stem covers for years, guess this tires different? They put green stem covers on.

other question I have was I saw tire date codes 1024 on 2 left side tires but found no date code on right side tires, they told me as these are directional tires one side won’t show date codes as their on the other side? Guess that makes sense???
