Is there a plug & play speaker upgrade?

In my last car (Dodge Dart) I upgraded the stock paper speakers to the Mopar "Kicker" (brand) plug & play plastic speakers and it sounded 10x better with no other changes to the audio system.

Is there a Toyota Prius Gen 2 speaker package upgrade kit? Was there? Or is there a known perfect fit option? I liked that I didn't have to do annnnny wiring or soldering or anything - the connections were all prefabbed so you just literally plug them in and put the mounting screws in and covers back on. Is there anything like that for these cars or highly recommended upgrade options people have pieced together and are tried/tested/true ?

Last thing I want to do is buy anything that doesn't fit or is a major pita to try to make work/have it not work and discover I need to buy a new head unit or amp or some other bs. Car is a 2006 RHD "Touring," from Japan if that makes any difference.

 

Hmm.. that website might be helpful but not nearly as helpful as a specific upgrade kit made for this car so you could just buy it.

There are 178 results for a 2006 Prius.. and each one for a different speaker location etc, so then you really have to know speaker stuff to figure out which ones to get that work with each other in all the right spots.. and what type of connectors they have vs. what the car has/what parts to buy.. and whether you need to figure out any other mounting hardware to buy.

Hmm.. this is definitely not a 2-5 click purchase. More like need to consult someone who knows anything about this stuff for their input on what to buy and why so I can have all the bits to put them in vs. buy one of those and 2 of those and then wait for shipping and then find out I need to buy electrical connectors from Japan and have some mounting brackets 3D-printed etc.

Also, the website asked if it has factory navigation maps because I guess somehow this makes a difference to speakers ? The car does have factory maps in the display, however, it's a JDM car with JDM head unit and maps of Japan. No idea if any of that makes any difference to which speakers will fit and work ? Hmm.

Uuuh, plugging a speaker into an outlet != car audio solution at all as all of the built in speakers would still be oem junk. Only time I used some totally separate speaker was in an old VW rabbit with no radio. I bought a $12 AA battery powered single speaker FM radio from London Drugs and taped it to the dash.

2-5 click speaker upgrade purchases exist. I bought the front kit & rear kit for my last car that way. Plug & play connectors, too. Dodge put out speaker upgrade kits that worked for multiple vehicles that had the same size speakers. Apparently Toyota hasn't considered that people might want better than paper without buying a Lexus. Was hoping they had so I could seek, ideally, a new-old-stock kit and just plug it in boom done.

Even if I had a North American car that website still has tooooons of options, including different sized speakers specified for the same spots.. not exactly sure how they figure they fit if they're a 1/2" different in size. Guess I'm going to have in ask car audiophile ppl what will work and what to buy etc as the current ones are mediocre at best and I'd rather have something better considering I tend to drive ~100-120km/day and like listening to music or whatever on the highway that sounds decent w/o costing thousands of dollars. A ~$600 speaker upgrade worked MIRACLES in my last car, so figure if I spend a similar amount of money on speakers for this one it'll likely be a very big upgrade over existing.
