2010 Prius with a fairly new 12V battery replaced within the last year. I am traveling for a month and would like to disconnect the 12V battery to prevent battery drain. So far as I know, here's what I need to do:
    1) Disconnect the negative terminal and wrap it in a ziploc bag to avoid touching anything else
    2) Place a towel in the latch hole and gently close the trunk over it so I can easily open it back up on return to reconnect the negative terminal
    3) Reprogram a bunch of settings like radio, trip data, etc. since they will be reset.

    Anything else I missed?

I would simply unplug the white cable in the engine fuse box and put that connector in a baggie.

The radio presets should still be there. Set the clock. Trips will zero.

If you need to lock it use the mechanical key.

Ah I didn’t know that’s an option too, so you mean disconnect the white connector as circled in red?

What's your battery is dead in the month you need to be figuring out why In generation 3's may be in a generation two now I leave them sitting for months sometimes at a time in the right outside my window might just don't have time to drive it that day or whatever and so on and when I do get around to starting it crap 60 days is going by

I've found a pair of leather gloves handy: stuff the loose end of the neg cable into one, and lay the other over the hatch latch.
