Hey Guys and Girls I have a major problem. I have 2 of the newpriusbatteries that are basically flat so I need to get them charged enough to be able to start the engine of the car. I have an 07 and 08 through no fault of the batteries that the batteries are flat without enough charge to start the cars engine. I have sent a question through the website which has not been responded to yet which I am very stressed for time so I don't want anyone to think I'm complaining about the newpriusbatteries website or anything I just don't have time waiting for a response. So I guess my question to the group would be does anyone have any suggestions on a charger for the newpriusbatteries. I think the are a NIMh battery. I don't have the time for a hobby charger charge. So any thoughts, suggestion would be greetly appreciated. I do want to say I have purchased 3 of these batteries and 2 of them have over 40K and the first one I bought has over 50K of flawless miles and I do recommend them to anyone I talk to about prius batteries. Thanks everyone for your time and consideration

Yes, they are NiMH. Grid charge at 350mA until 235 V.

I would actually do a full top balance charge if it were mine.

You can search the forum for grid charging options and what top balancing is. There is the Hybrid Automotive Prolong charger, the Maxx Volt charger and details to build your own charger for less than $100.

if we have the means, what's the proper charge voltage per module to bring each one up individually?

Agree the grid charger is an option or some Toyota dealers have the equipment to charge a totally discharged hv battery. It happens so rarely on genuine modules that many dealers simply replace the whole set for new oem. Typically some modules will be bad which limits the current any of the modules can source

What was the cause? A good set of oem modules would easily last a year or more when not being used.

Individual modules, or a "block" pair?

    The OP said:
in the opening post, so it is in that context to which I replied, using the wording sticks specifically. The NewPriusBatteries sticks are equivalent to two Toyota prismatic modules or one Toyota block.
