I had plugs replaced along with EGR cleanup today. I’m not familiar, visually when I’m looking at the aftermath of the service, but I think something is missing. Can someone look at a few pictures and let me know everything looks all right? In particular I don’t know what a “Coil on plug boot kit” part(s) looks like so I don’t know if it was serviced. I am thinking there should be some kinda protective piece on the wiring (plug wires) that was left out? Thanks for the help here.

Coil on plug boot you would never see unless you work on your car have the wiper tray out and remove the spark plugs and the coils that are on top of the spark plugs would come off first there's a rubber boot on the bottom of those I didn't really know it was replaceable but oh boy I would be replacing the coil not the boot generally speaking at this age and mean the cars if it's a 2010 or 11 it's rather old and coils could be bad if you were getting coil codes or something replacing the boots on the coil is not a normal operation like for a tune up

Tombukt2 This work was recommended here on priuschat last year. It’s my 2014 Prius Three with 140,500 miles. Coil on plug boots were replaced, gaskets for EGR work were replaced. No codes were noted for the maintenance performed. Wiper cowling and wiper arms were removed, but if you look closely the passenger side of that cowling is sticking up and the wipers bump up against it on the return stroke. I will be going back to the shop next week to have them straighten and snap back into place. The reason I asked for help from this forum was because I don’t know if all the work was performed completely and correctly as I don’t know what else I might ask the technician to attend to in this Prius. I am hoping that someone might point out the obvious so I can have it corrected now. Thanks for your help.

    Are you referring to this:

That's how they come from the factory, but I agree: doesn't look good. There IS cover you can get for that; I've added that:

    Amayama invoice:

What prompted the coil replacement? Did you ask for it, or dealership suggest? Any cold-start shakes?

    Per this pic I think:

The wiper mounts have splines, and can be slightly, or grossly misaligned, if the wipers are not pushed pack on in the correct position. That's pretty much a rooky mistake; this is a dealership?

I've had similar issue: when dealership did some brake booster recall, they had the wipers and cowl off. and when I got the car back the wipers were scratched. I contacted the Service Manager, and he got to the bottom of it: the mechanic took off the wipers, placed them cosmetic side down on concrete, then stacked the cowl on top of it. They offered to repair; I'd already touch-up painted myself. Just a pain.

Mendel, thanks for the recommendation of the connector wire cover. Coil replacement was per recommendation of the private shop. No, no cold-start shakes. The cowl (couldn’t get a good picture of this) is flush with the windshield on the driver side but there is approximately one inch gap between the windshield and the cowling on the passenger side. Must not have seated properly and therefore wipers hit the raised edge. If there was snow or ice, there would be an awful buildup at that point. I’ll explain the wiper spline adjustment as I don’t think they have much experience with Priuses in this area. The local Toyota dealership is outrageously expensive and next nearest dealership is four or more hours away. Thank you for looking at my issues and commenting. This forum is great.

Not sure if this’ll help, anyway:
