A/C redirects air to floor vents even with dash vents selected.

    It's 106 degrees outside. I had a long drive this afternoon and the A/C works great except that every two or three minutes I have to hit the mode button again because it shifts by itself from cabin air to floor air. I don't usually realize it until I'm uncomfortably warm and my feet are cold. Is this fixable?

    If you can drive internal air mixer and diverter door position via the mode switch, the motors work, so it could be an ‘AUTO’ logic issue. I think I saw the steps to enter diagnostic mode. Suggest you search on that term.

    Sounds like it could be an intermittent signal from the 'mode' button, so the A/C amplifier thinks it's doing what you're telling it to.

    There might be a test mode available where you can press all the buttons and make sure they show pressed when you do, and not pressed when you don't. I haven't looked for that specifically, but if there's such a test mode the repair manual will cover it.
