Multiple TPM Sets

    Hello,

    For our 2024 Prius Prime, I plan to have two sets of tires: Snow and non snow.

    Does the car natively support multiple sets of TPM, assuming they were 'correctly' assigned to the car? IE, in my Subaru, I currently have a tool to 'flash' the sensors to the car, via the OBD2 port each time I swap tires.

    What are people doing with multiple sets of tires/rims?

    I am 100% down to 'buy something' to do this, but didn't see much information floating around out there.

    The gen5 Prius can handle 2 sets of tires. No scan tools are needed. Everything can be handled through the in-car menu system.

    Thanks! I assume the 'dealer', or 'the installer', has to initially synch it up, then it's available in a menu?

    Nope. Just have the correct TPMS sensors installed on the wheels, go into the car's menu to tell it to recognize a second set of wheels, then drive around for a bit. No dealer needed.

    If you have aftermarket TPMS sensors, they'll need to be programmed as recognizable by the car as "toyota" sensors. I mine were programmed directly at first, then when they lost connection I couldn't reconnect them. The tire place fixed it once I explained the issue, they had done a direct program themselves not realizing it wasn't necessary and that the car had the self-register feature.

    Since then, no problems whatsoever.

    Nice! Thanks for the info. I'm having the dealer themselves actually do it, but that's a lot better than a lot of OEMs, being able to swap them around like that. Subaru is a pain.
