New tires for the 2010. Goodyear. They ride stiffly, but I guess that's due to them being Low Rolling Resistance tires..

Continental makes some of the very smoothest riding / quietest LRR tires. They have a 1½" inner foam lining. More & more plugin cars on the road have to get quieter - or you start to notice the only remaining noises - coming from either the wind or the tires.

Went on a trip via airplane (overseas) and when we came back, the airport police stated to call this number. To make a long story short, our catalytic converter was stolen, perpetrator was apprehended, and we could not get the catalytic converter back as it is being held for evidence. Two weeks later we received our catalytic converter back, I welded it back on to the exhaust pipe, replaced the O2 sensor (wires cut), and replaced the muffler and gaskets while I had it taken apart. A month later, the driver side axle bearing hub was replaced at 643,323 miles for the first time. I did not replace the passenger side axle bearing hub at this time (still the original). I want to see how much longer it last. Currently the car has 644,411 miles and counting................................

It takes a good 400 to 500 miles of tire wear for the tires to settle down and start working as designed...

Really? Yikes. Just put on new Michelin crossclimate2's. Winter in the Northwest is approaching fast and I'll probably have less than 200 miles on them when the first snow hits
    :(

Regarding my previous post about getting my catalytic converter stolen, when I went to the car and drove it back to pick up the family at the arrival section of the airport, a lot of people were confused. As we drove the Prius back home on the highway, all of us were wearing either earplugs or earbuds, and all other drivers were staring at us, again really confused. Everyone saw a Prius, but what they were hearing was freight train. It was a painful hour and half drive to the house. All is good now and the miles continue to tick away.

JEEEZ - if our turbo woud have experienced even ⅛ of that much filth, it would have shut down & gone into limp mode.
