Has anyone looked into this, so far it looks like the manual water pump on the older motor and the electric water pump on the newer motor is the biggest hurdle I need to overcome. Looking for suggestions or anything outside the box method that you think would work to accomplish this task

You're putting that engine into an older car that has no controller for electric water pumping so you would have to add or fab up some kind of control so there's always that You could use the newer block and head assembly and put the old stuff possibly on the newer blocking head Not sure about that but from what I understand this newer engine you're looking at has the flood type EGR the same valve that the generation 3 2ZZ has so I'm not sure I would want to go that route in my lovely generation too It seemingly to me would be working backwards I guess there have been some head gasket problems on the NZ engine with the electric EGR valve and the electric water pump similar to the two ZZ. And I wouldn't want to welcome those problems back into my life for what 3 mi to the gallon possibly oh no that's quite all right And in other markets I think there's a five NZ I don't know anything about it so there's that but the fact that it's an NZ derivative probably maybe make some parts useful. But fitting the old water pump to the new engine without seeing the castings and things sitting side by side hard to know Toyota's not like they used to be for these type of things like s engines and the beams engines things like that they've made it a lot more difficult for the engine swaps in these newer designs.
